Jason & I went out to breakfast this morning. We went down to the Brookdale Lodge, I had french toast and french fries, yummmm. A+++

I did some laundry, ate some cheesecake. Most of the day I spent outside reading & listening to music, though, sitting around on the tree platform out back & moving around to the sunbeams. It was a gorgeous day up here, it was in the mid-70s.

Went over to Peter's today, delivered some cheesecake to him. It's so good. OMOMOM.

I'm currently reading this book called More Terrible Than Death. So far it's been Columbian history and American involvement, from the "communist threat" to the war on drugs. It was written by a human rights worker and it's really interesting and intense. I knew, like, nothing about Columbia, and I'm sorry I didn't. :\

All my friends are quitting Gayle's--Peter already quit, and Katie & Kainoa are leaving at the end of the month, which is... really soon guys it's almost MAY.
I cleaned up the house this morning! Or, well, like half of it. The messy gross half, though! It only took me like 1.75 hours and I felt very accompished. Yay :D

And then I made lemon cheesecake bars:

Mmm they are so good. I doubled the crust, of course, and then made even MORE for the topping!!! And there are even more in a bowl to put on if you're really a fan of crumbs (as Jason & I are).

Jesus updates:
The top part of him definitely perished D: Even worse, though, somebody (I highly suspect Jason, myself) ripped him up from the soil. I walked up to the house and I saw him, roots dangling in air, his planter about 10 inches away, pinned against the side of the screen. I think Jason was waving the hose around the other day and kind of whacked him out. It was horrible! Luckily I had an extra pot & soil, and I replanted him with two of his little lilies that had been ripped out along with the roots in there. This is what his planter looks like now:

Some of his little sprouts had sufficient roots to stay put, I guess, 'cause those are definitely Jesus babies. Aren't they cute?!?!?! I moved them both up onto our hillside where they'll get more sun, hopefully ease their traumatic little lives D: Unfortunately my camera battery died before I could get a picture of Jesus in his new pot.

So Jason & I both had this Iron Maiden song stuck in our head...
Me, singing it: Two!! Minutes!! To miiiiidniiight!! To kill the unborn in the wooooooooomb!
Jason: Oh, is that what they're saying?!
Me: I think so...what did you think they were saying?
Jason: I don't know, 'Don't!! Mess with!! Jamaiiiica!!'?
HAHAHAHWTF he is so silly.

A while ago, I purchased this pendant on Etsy. A few days after I got it, the bail came off the back. When I contacted the seller, she said she could fix it if I sent it back, reimburse shipping, etc. I said okay! And then March happened and as some of you may know, that was probably the worst month of my entire life right there, so I wasn't really preoccupied with getting the pendant fixed. Anyway, later on, I get some craft glue & fix the pendant myself, and write to the seller to let her know what happened to me and not to expect it in the mail and OMG you made another awesome pendant. Those of you who know me well will immediately see why I loved this:

It is a bear and it's hiking OMG!! So she offered it to me for free, and because I can't accept HUMONGOUSLY LARGE GENEROSITY <3333 like that, I said I'd buy another pendant, like a two-for-one deal. She has so many awesome pendants in her store that I've been drooling over for so long that I figured it was just time to treat myself. So, after much deliberation and 'This one's gorgeous, but this one is awesome, but I LOVE these colors, but OMG TREES!!' I bought this one:

Mmmmm dichoric glass mmmm.
I can't wait for them to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shawn camped there last night and was still around, so we went to visit. I saw a 2000 year old tree guys!!!!11!1 I've been to Big Basin a couple of times, but for some reason I'd missed that part before. It's pretty cool there, and only like 8 miles away. Too bad it costs $6 to park, I could go out to eat or buy a pretty new ring on Etsy for that much, bitches!! Plus, when I can take an equally pretty walk, only without paying anything, without driving anywhere, AND BEST PART!! there's nobody else on the trail, why would I drive all the way out there to pay $6?!

OMG THE PROPANE IDIOTS KILLED JESUS!!!

Or tried to. DDDD:

My landlords told me some propane guys would be coming inside the house and doing something, but I didn't know they'd be replacing the whole propane tank or I would've moved poor Jesus (my Easter lily) out of the area. Instead I come home, see a shiny new propane tank, and immediately think 'OH MY GOD JESUS!!!' I ran over to where he was, and he was laying down, with the top foot and a half of him torn & hanging. It was so sad. I flipped the torn part back up and wrapped it with a ton of hemp, then tied some wooden support to it. I don't think it will save him, but...he's Jesus, so maybe he can recoup. I also gave him some more soil & a ton of watering, hopefully that will cheer him up and he won't die.

I don't think I've mentioned--he's sprouting babies :DDD There are like THREE new plants sprouting up by his base. He already tried to flower this year, when we had our warm spell in January/Februrary. I don't know if he can do it again this year D: But he has little baaaabieeeesss and they are SO CUTE.

My feet are sooo sore D: Since my toe is still really painful when I touch it, but fine if it's left untouched, I wore some shoes that have open space in the toe area, and my toe was super happy painless all day long. But the shoes with the open toe area also happen to have horrible support otherwise and my feet were and are still just killing me sdlkfda. So glad I have tomorrow off :DD

My toe is still hurty, although it is dissipating greatly. Now it only hurts if I touch it directly. So yay. I got to leave work early because I can't really walk for too long, and the floor = walking walking standing walking. My mom's theory is that it was a bug bite of some sort, which does make sense (except I can't find the bite, but that doesn't mean it's not there somehwere).

So Jase & I watched Submerged this afternoon, another GREAT Steven Seagal movie. And that's really all I have to say about that: a fun, snark-filled waste of a couple hours.

Currently I am drinking hot chocolate with Irish creme, so life is good.

Ellie just put up some pictures of the visit over spring break. :DDD

Hangin' out on the couch: me, Hannah, & Marco. Also Gata, and of course, Kettle Chips.

Marco & Ellie, New Brighton State Beach, the day our stuff was stolen D: (It could have been happening AT THAT EXACT MOMENT)

This is Ellie after we gave her some salvia HAHAHA :D

Hannah up in a tree, at the place where some cop came & checked us out, asked us if we had any alcohol, went to the trouble of walking around us, SAW our alcohol (well we assume, there was really no way he couldn't have unless he was just staring at someone's butt or something), and left. ?!

In the backseat!
Man...we all need to live in the same town, like, really bad.
OMG. So I've had some low level toe pain in the past couple months. I thought it was mostly due to having to wear socks ALL THE TIME because it was so cold up here, and possibly it was bad for them wrapping them in two pairs of socks constantly. But I didn't worry about it much.

And I'm not sure if what happened last night was related to that recurring dull pain or not, but OMGWTF!!!!!!! Later in the evening, like 9:30, I was like, 'Wow, my toe kind of hurts more than usual. I'll let it air out.' Whereas that would usually solve the problem and it wouldn't hurt again unless I squished it, it just continued to get worse. And worse and worse and worse. By 1am I'd laid in bed for like 2.5 hours trying to get to sleep and had not yet gotten there, due to the intense pain in my left big toe (I'm usually asleep within 20 minutes no problem). It was swollen, it felt really hard when I touched it, it was this sharp, stabbing pain, and it was throbbing all the way up to my knee. And I couldn't bend my big toe at all. It hurt SO FUCKING BAD you have no idea. I put it in some cold water and that really helped for a while, but 20 minutes later it was worse than ever. Anyway, around 3:30am, it finally subsided enough that I could go to sleep, and today it's been painful to the touch and a little sore but nothing compared to last night. I was thisclose to going to Doctors on Duty or something, but I couldn't find my HSA card, and the emergency room is hundreds of dollars, so I hobbled around in pain searching for nothing D:

I went on WebMD and the only thing it came up with that fit my symptoms was gout. GOUT, you guys! I'm not a 60 year old obese male, though D: Jason suggested it was 'growing pains,' and I'm hoping that that's what it was, even though it was pretty much the worst pain I've ever felt, and I'm supposed to be done growing. But if anyone else has experienced something similar, what was it and what did you do?! I'm scared it's going to hurt again tonight, and I have to wake up at 4:00 so that would not be good DDD:

Anyway... Peter came over last night, and that was fun as always. Jason & I went out to eat at this place called Heavenly Cafe, it was pretty tasty stuff. I had a quesadilla with turkey & a whole bunch of stuff in it, it was so good I was stuffed all day.

I wanted to name him Steven Seagal, but Jason said that with two Geos named Steven and Stanley, he would get confused. So we settled on Judson.

He's the same make, model, & year as Stanley, they're just different colours. He has way less mileage and more power & speed, though. And the interior is nicer. Only there's like a carbon monoxide leak in the cab? Or something. Which is why he was only $400. But Jason's only using him for his job and he cruises around with both windows rolled down for that. I'm going to get him a little alarm/detector thing anyway though.

I had today off from work, hooray!! My boss who does the schedules at work came up and asked me if it was all right if I did Saturday books since one of the other bookkeepers quit. I said sure, no problem, as long as I can get a different day off, I don't even care what it is. I think my new day off is Tuesday. Which is GREAT, because I just discovered Paradise Hotel last night and boy is that some seriously funny shit! And when I say shit, I mean big heaping piles of fecal matter. That show blows. But it blows awesomely.

So today Jase & I went to Bank of the West in Santa Cruz and opened me up a new account and took care of that bidness, and then we went to San Jose and he bought another car. More info on that when we actually have it in our possession. Then we hit up the DMV to take care of the new ownership stuff, and also to get a replacement driver's license. I told my mom there was no way I was paying the stupid replacement fee, so she gave me some money. My mom is great.

Unfortunately we're going to be getting new neighbors D: My landlords fixed up this really cool cabin, kind of up the street/driveway from our house and then down the hill a bit. Jason really wants to move in. It IS really nice, it's got one HUGE front deck, and a really cool back raised deck, and a humongous kitchen, cheaper heating than what we have now, and it's a two bedroom, the second bedroom being teensy. It also has three skylights and is perched on a cliff overlooking a creek. Our landlords would totally rent it to us, but it's $1500/month. Our other neighbors, however, offered to pay a part of our rent if we moved into it for reasons undisclosed on this livejournal ( :3 ). So...we're thinking about it. Jason was like, 'We could ask Peter to live with us! ...But no, we shouldn't, because Peter does NOT want to live us and then it would be awkward.'

25

Hell yeah!

I hate working stupid shifts like 12-7:30. I was so tired last night from being up before 5am for several consecutive days that I couldn't enjoy staying up, and I just woke up and now it's already 9:30 and I have to leave for work in an hour and a half, not to be back until after my usual bed time. Lame!!!! Lame I tell you!! And Jason's not even home yet because he started his job really late this morning, so I can't even hang out with him. SLDdkfsdkfsdlDkfdsk!!!! dklfsdkl!!!! And when I finally arrive at work, an hour and a half before my usual departure time, I will be on the floor for seven hours. And none of my buddies will be working because it will be the afternoon.

I don't mean to complain about my job so much. It's usually a pretty sweet deal for me. Days like this are just lame though.

Rent needs to get in too. Unfortunately because of that whole my-stuff-was-stolen thing, the bank can't do the things that need to be done until today, which is kind of pushing it. Jason said that he could probably find a way to pay in cash and I could pay him back when my account's back up, but since we both need to be at the bank for them to do what needs to be done and we have conflicting work schedules, that probably won't be till Wednesday. DDD: Why do people suck so much? Will we ever know?

And now, the high point of the entry:

Haiku2 for hobik

it covers all sides
ah quincy so exciting
when you compare this

@ aboutmylife.netadvogato.orgblogger.comblogs.gnome.orgblogspot.comdeadjournal.comgreatestjournal.cominsanejournal.comlivejournal.commyspace.comspaces.msn.com

Created by Grahame

I work from 12-7:30 tomorrow WHY!?!?! I would be like, 'Well hey cool I can stay up!' but I don't even know if I can make it very long, being on this earlytype schedule already. Ughhh. Stupid stupid. I already have over 80 hours on my paycheck too. And that NEVER happens. I usually have like 55 hours. I better be getting some moolah this time.

Now that I finally feel like doing my taxes (not that I have a whole lot of options left) I think I've lost my W-2s. And I'd hung on to them for so long, too!

We had an extra cell phone lying around without a battery, and as soon as Jason's dad heard I'd been ROBBED!! he sent me a new battery. It actually got here like TWO DAYS after all my stuff was stolen. I love Jason's dad, he is so great ♥ It's great too because the extra phone happened to be a camera phone, so now I have it set to PICTURES OF STEVE MILLER!!!! It's not as cute or small as my old pink phone though.

Today at work I was sent over to get the orange chiffon cakes and transfer them to the store. Even though it's just a parking lot away, we're required to use a vehicle for some reason (I don't think it's a legal issue--we JUST started doing it). Anyway I go back there to use the only car left, the Volvo, and there's Kelly trying to fix the key. So we just hung out and talked for a while, it was sunny & nice. It was kind of like that feeling when you cut school, y'know, like you're doing something mischievious and shirking your responsibilities. Anyway, we waste a bunch of time and then I put the cakes in the back of the car and we drive over. After she parked by the door, I went to go get the cakes out of the back seat and I was moving the big tray they were on. And then this guy came up and had to get in the door, and the car was right next to it so I had to move out of the way, and when I turned back, THE TRAY HAD FALLEN!! And there was an orange chiffon cake upside down on the floor, and the others were in mortal peril but I was able to 'save' them by squishing them with my hand back on the tray to an upright position. So then I was like 'OMG WHAT SHOULD I DO?!' and Kelly was like, 'Quick, throw it over the fence, I'll watch!' Because we have this big fenced in dumpster. So I went and tossed it in. Hahahaha it was GREAT. And then I went back inside and my hands were all sticky with the 'blood' of the cake. Poor orange chiffon D: They are so tasty too.

So I just got a call from my dad: 'Sara's already in Santa Cruz, and me & Kyleigh are on the way.' Um wtf!! (Notice it is a small wtf; I knew he was coming this week, but I'm pretty sure he knows my friends are showing up tomorrow and I work and stuff.) But still, that is no problem, really, he won't be staying at my house. I'll be able to visit tonight & tomorrow, after I get off work. And apparently they're only staying till Sunday or Monday.

And because, really, there is nothing better than taking pictures with my grumpy cat ABBEY CRABBY:

Work today was laaame. Well, I mean, it wasn't really that bad. (In fact I don't know why I complain about it so much.) I was the second order supervisor, so when I got there most everything had already been done, and it was soooo sloooow. And then all of the sudden it was super busy and the kitchen was smashed, of course, so it was just sort of stressful D: Plus it was one of those shifts that are really 8 1/2 hours, but they make you take an unpaid lunch so there's no overtime. PLUS!! it's the middle of my day, so that is poo. (Okay so there are a few reasons I complain.)

I've lost my cell phone. This is how many clues I have as to where it is: 0. But Jason recently got a new phone, which means that I should be able to take the old one until I can recover my cute little pink phone. But I can't really find that one either. Stuff, why must I be so bad at owning you?

Happy St. Patrick's Day guys! I don't understand why everyone gets drunk on St. Patty's...I mean, come on, WEED is green naturally, beer is not. I guess the Irish aren't stereotypically stoners. BUT is Ireland more green or more alcoholic? Will we ever know?

I can't wait till The Office is on again in Aaaaprilll. :DDDDDDDDDD

And also! I've been having a hard time finding something I actually want to read. And since I have a library at my disposal just down the street & all, I figured I'd ask for any suggestions. I like nonfiction of any type the most, although good fiction is appreciated as well. Plz hlp. All my books seem so unappealing D:

Tomorrow's St. Patrick's Day! And I don't get off till 7pm wahhh what is this? DDDD: At least I can stay up late tonight...and I don't have to work until 9am the day after, which isn't nearly as bad as the off-at-8:30pm-in-at-5:30am thing I did last night/this morning. I was order supervisor today, and was unexpectedly busypants all day long. Way better than calling numbers though.

My mom got Jason & I each a milk chocolate bunny for Easter.
Me: Where's the rest of your chocolate bunny?
Jason: I don't know, I can't find it.
[A few hours later, Jason points to my perfectly wrapped, brand new bunny.]
Jason: Oh there's my chocolate bunny.
Me: Nonono, that's my chocolate bunny.
Jason: Then where's mine?
Me: You ate yours.
Jason: [extremely skeptical look]
Me: And I helped you a little bit.

OMG!! You guys, Jason & I got so tired of waiting for the newest season of Degrassi: TNG to start again, and we just forgot about it, and then when we checked the website, there were FIVE BRAND NEW EPISODES OMG!!!!!!!!!! We were like, 'YES PARTY' and obviously stuffed our pipes & settled down. Oh man is it ever great. It's like, what, seven seasons in? And they're running out of RIDICULOUS to fuel their show with, so the episodes are like, 'LET'S GIVE SPINNER CANCER!! LET'S HAVE MARCO ALMOST BECOME A GAY PROSTITUTE!! DARCY HITS ON MR SIMPSON & ALMOST ATTACKS HIM WITH A PAIR OF SCISSORS!!' It's almost like it's going beyond instead of just going there! :OOO Who could have possibly expected this?!?!? I love it. May Degrassi: TNG run for as many ridiculous seasons as possible.

ETA: Oh man, I forgot how awesome this haiku thing is:

Haiku2 for hobik

um this santa cruz
which was sweet of them they were
so awesome man

@ aboutmylife.netadvogato.orgblogger.comblogs.gnome.orgblogspot.comdeadjournal.comgreatestjournal.cominsanejournal.comlivejournal.commyspace.comspaces.msn.com

Created by Grahame

I wasn't scheduled to work today but I picked up a 3-8:30 shift anyway, because I have to help pay for that stupid car debacle that happened at the beginning of this month. I was dreading it, but it really wasn't bad at all. With lunch & all, I only had to spend 5 hours on the floor, and I took up at least a half hour folding boxes, so...pretty cool! None of my friends were really working because they're all super early morning people like me. But Steve Miller was working!! Hahaha. I love saying that. It's great too because he almost almost has my favourite Steve Miller hairdo, too. Like thisclose. If there were just a smidge more of it.

I can't believe how horrible I've become at lj. Like, I updated five times in February? WTF is that about?! Additionally, my el jay anniversary is coming up--on St. Patrick's Day, it will be SIX YEARS OLD!! You guys!! SIX YEARS!! I think there's only one of you who's been with me that whole time (yes that would be you Ashley bandgeek_4_life <3 you were actually with me on my previous, unmentionable journal).

Oooh and in EXCITING!! / AWESOME!! news, Ellie, Marco, and Hannah are all coming to visit on their spring break! Which is only a week away. It shall be awesome. We were thinking maybe we could camp at Big Basin...but it's still pretty chilly at night, so I don't know. Anyway I'm sure good times will be had :D

I revamped my journal again. Points to you if you can guess where it came from. I love how I like the 'Component' style so much that every time I 'change' it I just make a new background, move the block of text around, and just recolour everything. One of these days I will change it fo' realsies. But not today.

We've been cleaning up the house recently. I cleaned my desk off...there was seven months' worth of stuff on it and I finished it off in about a half hour. I am AWESOME!! Today, Jason & I cleaned out our dresser. Divided up the drawers again...I cannot share a drawer with him, he tears all my stuff out and pushes his stuff EVERYWHERE and I can never find anything. My drawers are so neat & tidy right now. It makes me happy :D

I got some awesome new pants at the thrift store yesterday. I should try to take a picture of them but they are being washed right now. They're like dark green/brownsomething with lighter coloured pinstripes, pretty awesome. $4.20!

Dude!! It's been forever. I think I need a new layout to entice me to update or something. I also have been writing in this cute little journal I got for a couple bucks. I put mostly boring stuff in it that I wouldn't want to update with here...but then there are no comments. :( So it's kind of lame.

So...my mom visited for a week plus some. It was a lot of fun, didn't seem like very long.

Then we kicked off March with horrible car troubles of death. One of our cars was getting new roters/brakes, up on blocks in our driveway (cheap travelling mechanics yay)...but that wasn't supposed to be a problem because we had two other cars. So Jason was driving Kim around for a pizza delivery and got stuck in a ditch. He calls me to pick him up. I leave in Carl, who has had this weird thing going on with his battery, and we had it rigged up to work fine for months, but I guess since it wasn't 'correct' it finally killed the alternator. On the way to pick Jason up. On the highway!!! I was like 'OMG OMG OMG!!! NO HEADLIGHTS NO BLINKERS AHHH!!' Both our cell phones were dead, and my AAA card was at home anyway. So I had to walk the stupid creepy long road in the pitch black (we used to have tons of flashlights in the cars, but they've been going dead because Jason uses them so much and he had the last one in his car) because there are no street lights and my cell phone wasn't even working and I was like DDDD: GIRLS GET ABDUCTED HERE AND ARE NEVER SEEN AGAIN. Or are seen with their heads torn off and bellies ripped out. And I wish I was kidding...and that they had solved that particular problem. Anyway, Carl was able to be fixed right up, but in the process of getting pulled out of the ditch, Kim's CV joint snapped so she was undrivable. So he left her there for a day, no note. And then the CHP towed it. And we were gonna be like, well fuck that they can keep her, but then they said it was $120 a day until the car went to collections, at which point they would send the bill to...Jason's dad. SKDfsldflsd. WTF???? So anyway, he paid it and then had her taken away by a pick & pull because it would've been $340 to get her drivable again. So. Sigh. I miss her. And we have both cars working fine again. It was just a big old hassle for about five or six days.

Then!!! Jeremie came to visit me from Berkeley! I hadn't seen him since graduation. It was pretty cool, he'd never been to Santa Cruz before so I showed him around a little. Then we met up with Cailin, who lives in Santa Cruz yet whom I had not seen since graduation either. I took them to my place of work and Jeremie did THIS:
Jeremie: Are you actually Steve Miller? You really exist?
Steve Miller: Yes, I exist.
Jeremie: Wow! We came all the way from Quincy just to see you!!
Steve Miller: [UTTER CONFUSION...his face was seriously like WTFHUH?!]
Jeremie: We just had to make sure she wasn't lying!!
OMG!!! The hilarity of it just about balanced out the embarrassment factor. Hopefully he thinks something only slightly embarrassing, like that I have a crush on him or am just kinda silly, and not something like...I'm crazy.

I am kind of crazy about Steve Miller. But I mean ... !!! Have you ever heard his music?!?!?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥ (Can you believe that picture doesn't exist online and I had to take it myself?! HELLO, obviously one of the BEST pictures of Steve of all time, and yet they put this shit on the album cover: UGH GROSS EWWWW must post another good one to get rid of that horror of the eyeball: I was going to go with the one in my icon because I agree that it is an awesome picture, especially when the hippie bracelet is included, but this will do, although personally I would have chosen that one picture from the back of Number 5 where the kid is reaching for his crotch and Steve is like HEY WOAH :O\:D TOO CUTE)

My mom is coming out to visit today! Pretty cool, she hasn't been down here since November :( So it has been like three months almost. She got really sick for a while. I'm glad she's FINALLY coming down, but it kind of sucks because our weather went from super nice and beautiful to cold and rainy. :\

Jason's co-worker is offering us a '76 Nova for $800. Jason says it sounds 'sooo nice' and he does not lie. I almost want to get it, but then we would have four cars. I've wanted a Trans Am forever, but they're pretty crappy cars all around (which is probably why they're so hard to come by, another factor making it a problem to obtain one). Anyway, Novas are like my #3 favourite muscle car, right after Datsuns. Peter has a super awesome '72 Nova in my favourite color, that olive green. The one that the co-worker has used to be olive green but has faded considerably. That's okay though...I prefer them to be a little trashy :P I really want a muscle car. Why must they be so impractical? DDDD:

Oh and Carl is fine! The auto place called me and they were like, 'Oh so um in order to fix this one tiny little minor problem [radiator hose], we have to do this thing with your battery and clean your engine because there's oil on it so it'll be $240.' I was like WTF?!?!? I was like, 'Uhh, okay, I'll pick it up.' And we put a new radiator hose in him and some fresh coolant and he's doing awesomely. And it only cost $15...including the coolant. Mechanics, pfft.

Also, I must not forget that I NEED THIS next time I have an extra $40.

After feeling tired of the same old breakfast foods recently, today I decided to look through some books I had to see if I could find anything else to make with the limited ingredients that I had. Jason had just brought an apple home when I stumbled across GERMAN APPLE PANCAKE(s?).

OMG!!

It (they?) were soooo good. It's like one big pancake, baked in a skillet in the oven for 25 minutes. The pancake itself has no sugar or butter or anything in it. Then while that's cooking, you melt butter and sugar and cinnamon together and cook apples in it and then pour it over the top of the big pancake when it comes out. And then you slice it into wedges like a pizza. I had never even heard of such a thing before. But it was SO GOOD OMG I'm going to make it forever and ever. And the great thing is, it's healthier for you than regular pancakes, but because of the amazing use of apples it is way sweeter and you don't have to use any gross processed junk (like maple syrup). SCORE!!

OMG JOHN EDWARDS IS COMING TO SAN JOSE AGAIN.

It took Jason & I combined like .2 seconds to decide that we are going to go see him again--it's in the same place as before & everything, so no problems. It's at like 10am, but we both have the day off and COME ON IT'S JOHN EDWARDS.

Those pesky Obama phone solicitors called me last night on my CELL PHONE to say, 'We want to make sure you're voting for Barack Obama.' I was like, 'Thanks, but I KNOW I'm voting for Edwards--the REAL progressive in the race!' HAHA I sound like his campaign. They were like, 'Okay...'

Anyway that makes me :DDD HAPPY

In other news, we now have a creek in our driveway. I went outside this morning and I was like, 'WTF water noises? Is it raining?' And then I remembered the creek that sprung up a couple days ago. Sure it's only like a foot wide at the largest point, and only a few inches deep, but it is still a RUNNING CREEK through our driveway and down our hill.

Our Netflix movies got stolen! It usually takes one day for them to arrive, and when it hit the five-business-day mark, something had to be wrong :\ Mailbox theft happens a LOT up here, and it's kind of easy to see why. I just hope they saw that we got kind of lame movies and decided to not take them from us again.

I called to try & cancel our cable, but stupid Comcast has packages only. Well, I guess not ONLY, but if we stop paying $14 for cable, we will have to pay $40 MORE for internet. That makes sense, right? Since we'll be getting fewer services from them, of course our bill will go up. WTF? So I thought about it, and if we cut cable TV AND phone (which we hardly ever use because we both have cell phones), then our bill should go down...only by a couple of dollars than it is now, but Jason is admittedly addicted to & wants to get rid of the TV, and I don't really like it all that much. Although I really will miss the Santa Cruz channels and Hallmark and Family Feud...it would be better without all of it. D:

And of course it's still tentative, because we're not really one for PLANS, but Jason & I thought we'd hit up Montana this summer, and live there for a couple months. We already have a 'guide' who lived there and knows the area. Jason thinks we could do it really cheaply; I think we'd still have to have jobs. But I'd totally be up for it. I want to come back to Santa Cruz county, though. Jason wants to go somewhere like Arizona or something... I guess we'll see.

ETA: Alternet's got an article up with stuff I've been saying for years. Kind of sad to think about when you realize it's all over an herb that has never once caused death, unlike alcohol & cigarettes, along with prescription drugs (causing 125,000 deaths in the US alone every year) drugs--the governmentally pushed drugs. Gee, what's the real problem?

Today was pretty okay!

Let's see, it started at 4:00am this morning, when I awoke after about 5 hours of sleep because I couldn't get to sleep last night. I dragged myself out of bed, and my car wouldn't start. Yell at the boyfriend, trying to get underway with his job, until he drives me all the way down to work in Capitola--as I've said, a 35 minute drive. I get there, go into the office, and who should be there but Michael Hanson. We both stare at each other, kind of going, 'WTF are YOU doing here?' I go check the schedule...and sure enough, there's my name down at the bottom, crossed off and replaced with his. Wonderful. I got the message that I wasn't supposed to work on MONDAY, but today is TUESDAY and I was holding a different position. They just failed to tell me. So I hurry up, call Jason on his cell phone, and panic because he's not answering. Oh shit! I think. Maybe he hasn't reached it to the plant yet, meaning he'll be turning off his car, so I just redailed until he picked up, which only took about seven minutes thank god. And asked him to pick me up. Sigh. Was so pissed.

Get home, go to sleep, get up & read, go to eye appointment. Rewarded myself for bad day with a book I'd been eyeballing. Brand new, hardcover, I've wanted to read it for months now--$7! I didn't even have to pay for it as I had a trade credit my dear mother gave me. So hurrah :D

I got home to find THREE MESSAGES from work and they're all apologizing and going 'I feel horrible,' 'I am SO SORRY,' 'I really want to talk to you,' 'We want to apologize...and make sure you'll be here tomorrow!' And such. Which was sweet of them :D And they paid me for two hours even though I didn't work anyway. I really appreciate them apologizing so much for it; after reading parts of Bushwhacked and hearing some of my flists' 'adventures' with their work places, I do like being in an environment that I feel appreciates me even if they forget to notify me of things sometimes. So...yes.

ETA: We also gave our neighbor a ride into Santa Cruz today. Remember that dream I had? He said he's moving at the end of the month! JASON & I ARE PROPHETS!!! Regular Joseph Smiths HAHAHA.

So I was finally able to get an appointment with an eye place. I got it last week but it's not till tomorrow...and it's at 1:30, aka, when I get off work. I'm hoping they'll let me go early because it's been really slow this month, because if they don't, I'll have to make an appointment somewhere else, with a different doctor, and it'll probably be another week before they can even see me.

Also I got summoned for jury duty. I called in the thing today, and it told me to call back tomorrow night for possible Wednesday reporting. Even though I told work about this, they scheduled me anyway, and I just noticed today when I turned my planner over. So...sdaklfs to that too.

Yesterday, on our way up to our favourite spot, we noticed that the gate (that is always locked & closed) was open. After venturing up anyway, we run into the realtor who said that our spot (which is on land that I guess is being sold) was currently in escrow but would be closing in a couple days. D:!! Of course this will probably not stop us from going up there, unless of course they're always hanging around on their lower property way far away from their house (unlikely). But we can probably just hide in the bushes around there...if we hear their car fast enough.

And I just have to say: sdklfsdjlk!KLL!KL!L! FUCK the mainstream media and their ignoring of Edwards. Of course they're trying to silence him because he is the most progressive candidate there is, and that obviously scares them, and a great way to control elections/people's feelings/whatever in this country is just to choose what to report and what not to report on the Nightly News or whatever, because Americans are so lazy that they get all their news from one stupid lying source that covers a stupid NYC power outage that lasts 5 seconds over real news and real lives dfklasjdfkl!!!!! Yes, I'm bitter, because it's true and that's sad. Poor John Edwards. I hope he can still make it somehow...I mean, most of the country hasn't voted, but because everyone's 'watching' early states, they of course all turn into sheep who can't make their own decisions and go 'Well according to whatever poll put out by people who want us to think this, I think I'll vote to screw myself har de har.'
