I probably couldn't forget it
Me and Jason are all moved in! We just got internet yesterday, which explains my absence. I'll actually be able to post stuff now! About how interesting and exciting (or not interesting and not exciting) life here is! :D

It took forEVER to get internet up, ughh. So glad we have it now :D I <3 internet.

Anyway! So! Our house is super spiffy! I've kind of described it before, but I actually have pictures this time! Here's when we were still moving things in and hadn't got anything set up yet:

But I just took some more pictures of it, and they are here! )

Jason doesn't have a job yet. He actually got hired at the Boardwalk for 'food service' and when he was at orientation, they said this janitorial position where you clean rides before all the crazy tourists arrive was open that paid a lot better, like $10/hr. So he went and interviewed for that, they hired him after the second question, but then he was offered a job by one of my dad's friends who works at our newspaper the Sentinel. So Jason could be a truck driver and get paid $12.50/hr, even better! Plus he'd get to drive around and listen to music, and he liked that idea. So he quit the Boardwalk before he even worked there and went to get a job at the Sentinel, who now won't interview/hire him because he has a 'moving violation' aka a SPEEDING TICKET that fast speeder. But he might be able to get a job there anyway, like putting inserts in papers or doing something like that.

I went to UCSC's orientation and it was cool. Except for being at 7:30 IN THE MORNING. I met some of the students there as well as a couple people from my class. I decided that I do not want to do a biology major because I am not crazy. I signed up for my classes! I only go on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Woot. I also don't have to go any earlier than 11:00. Well. On Wednesday I have this lame thing called discussion at 8:00. But that's only one day a week, I guess I can manage. So I have my core class, which every student in my college has to take, and it's called Cultural Identities and Global Awareness or something. Blah about that ) I'm also taking a history class called Modern East Asia. I wanted some other ones, but they were ALL full, and it was a choice between this and Mexico from 1850, so... And I'm not enrolled in the class yet, because I have to meet the instructor first, but I'm gonna be taking German. :D

Um! Me and Jason have been going to the beach every day. Well, not EVERY day, but most days. Here's me at the beach by the Boardwalk, you can see the wharf in the background:

It's so nice to just watch the waves and stuff. The other day was actually the first time I've really, like, played in the ocean. I've run in waves and all that stuff, but I've never been in past my waist, much less my head. So. That was a whole different world of funness. Until some big huge wave caught me and pushed me down and drug me across the BOTTOM OF THE SEA and I got a sandburn :( That wasn't cool. I'm terribly afraid of drowning, so that made it worse. I can hardly wash my face in the shower. I would rather die any other way than drown. Like, be shot, get stabbed, get into a car accident, fall off a huge building, take poison, or, um, die peacefully in my sleep. But it was still a ton of fun, I guess I just have to swallow some more saltwater before I'm not scared of it KILLING ME anymore.

I've been sewing a bit too. The Salvation Army here is AWESOME. They get great stuff in every day. I hate to think about how fast things go, though, because I know that I've bought some of the things on the day they came in. But I have gotten some really cute things there. Also, every Wednesday they have a half-off on all clothes sale. It's awesome, I tell you. I got a large men's button-down shirt there, and I turned it into this:

The lime green straps and bottom are from an old t-shirt.

AND!!!! I made Jason bear ears, because he's my Honeybear. He's so so so cute when he wears them. He's just camera shy, so this is a pre-approved picture. He was like, 'Choose the one where I look oldest. ...I at least look like a teen-ager in this one.'

AWWWWW.
And here's the lamp modeling them:

It's made from a plastic headband, fake fur, and pink flannel.
